Orrin Snelgar

Orrin Snelgar Clinical Psychologist

Orrin completed his MA in Clinical Psychology at Rhodes University in 2018 and is registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (PS0141372) and Board of Healthcare Funders (0958476) as a Clinical Psychologist. His professional experience in the public and private sectors of Eastern and Western Cape have included therapeutic, substance abuse (addiction), acute (disorders involving psychosis), geriatric (as well as dementia), and forensic settings. He has also taught at the post-graduate level on topics including Basic Counselling Skills, Metacognitive Theory, Clinical Communication, Crisis Intervention, Professional Self-care, and Motivational Interviewing.

Since completing his registration, Orrin has continued with specialist training in Schema Therapy (culminating in the STISA national diploma), BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (BWRT Level 1), and the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA Training Certificate).

Orrin previously read for his BA (Psychology and Drama) and BA Honours (Psychology) at Rhodes University and an MA (Language Studies) at Yuan Ze University. He currently offers in-person and online therapy for individuals and couples.
